Short and Sweet...
Ok, am I the only one in the world who is tired of Taylor Swift? I really can't be the only one. Her new album came out yesterday, but the hype for it has been building since her last album came out. Maybe it's that I'm single and bitter and all of her songs are about finding love and whatnot, but seriously. Am I alone? In the past 24+ hours I've seen about a million and a half statuses on facebook/tweets on twitter about listening to Speak Now and how no one can decide what their favorite song is. News flash: they're the same 15 songs as were on her first two albums.
T-Swift is a cutie. I love her first few songs. I wish I had her fashion sense and my hair would curl like that. But damn, the girl needs to take a break like Kanye took after their incident at the VMA's 2009.
My rant is now over.

The Epitome of SASS
Ok, I am FASCINATED by pop culture. I don't know why, but I just love it. Especially when it relates to movies or music (or in a strange twist of fate the two combined to make Glee, but that's a whole other topic). No doubt you've heard Willow Smith's new song "Whip My Hair" by now. I can't stand it. Or rather, I can't stand the "I whip my hair back and forth" that repeats about a million times throughout the song. She's amazing for a 9-year-old and it's a catchy song, but I can do without the repeats. I just watched the video for it though and I'm in love. It's a fun video and it makes me want to splatter paint with my hair. It's no "Single Ladies" video that people will mimic for decades to come, but damn, that Willow is SASSY. You cannot deny the sass factor. Anxious to see what else Will Smith's children come up with...

Rocky Horror Glee Show... And the Original
So pretty much as soon as the preview for next week's Glee aired last week, I got on Amazon and bought Rocky Horror Picture Show on DVD. It got here Friday and my mom and I watched it that night. My mom and aunt used to go to the midnight shows all the time in the late 70's/early 80's and have fun yelling at the movie (not dressed up, but I'm sure the people watching there is almost as great as my Lady Gaga experience). Now, I made her sit still and quiet for my first viewing and all I can say is, "What did I watch?" haha - it was good, but several people have told me to watch it more than once, which I fully plan on doing. "Time Warp" was probably my favorite part of the movie and this article gives a preview of Glee's with the original just below it. I'm SO excited.
Kendall called me yesterday to see if I wanted to do a Girls' Night In watching Rocky Horror since we've been planning on making an event out of seeing the movie before the Glee-pisode. So my second viewing should be later this week. I'm really excited for the Glee version. Especially since Uncle Jesse, aka Dr. Carl will be singing in a leather studded, Elvis inspired, Meatloaf-ish costume.

We Fight Back by Tim Halperin
Like I said a few weeks ago, "We Fight Back" is a song my friend Tim has released on iTunes that benefits the Komen Foundation. This past weekend was frogs for the Cure at TCU and I'm so bummed I had to miss it, but luckily there's always YouTube to show me what I miss.
Seriously, buy the song if you haven't. Seventy cents of the ninety-nine cent song goes to Komen. It's a great song for a greater cause.

Uneventful...
Sorry for the lack of posts this month. My life is REALLY uneventful right now. I've applied for jobs. I'm not getting any responses, which is becoming not only depressing but just plain maddening. I did find my Halloween costume, so that's fun. And my phone has become increasingly unreliable at home, dropping calls left and right. SO annoying.
However the next three weekends should not be uneventful! This weekend is Tyler's famed "debutante" ball, the Texas Rose Festival. My family has a cousin escorting one of the girls this year, so naturally we are attending just about everything. Not to mention two girls I've gone to camp with for a LONG time are duchesses in it this year so it will be nice for a little dose of camp in the midst of the Rose Fest madness.
Next weekend is TCU homecoming and I am thrilled to get back to the Fort for TWO nights and just be with college friends. Why they picked that game for homecoming, I'm really not sure since it is the third game in a row at home. But whatever, it'll be a great game (we're playing Air Force who is surprisingly amazing this year)!
Then the weekend following that is Halloween! Art and Kendall will be holding their third annual Halloween party complete with pumpkin carving earlier in the week. I've decided I really want to carve a horned frog in my pumpkin, but have yet to decide how that will work...
Anyway, these events are knocking on my door and I'm thrilled because I love fall! Not to mention, I won't be nearly as boring with these things in my life.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month
It's October! Which means Breast Cancer Awareness Month! One of my friends from TCU is the very talented Tim Halperin. For the Frogs for the Cure game he has written a song called "We Fight Back" which he will be performing during halftime at the game on October 16. I'm so bummed I have to miss his performance because he is SO talented. The song is on iTunes TODAY and it's one of the remaining 99 cent songs on iTunes AND 70 of those cents benefits the Susan G Komen Foundation and you just can't pass that up! It's a GREAT song for an even GREATER cause. I hope all of my readers will be checking it out ASAP.
