Oh, How Pinteresting!

In the midst of my dog taking the time to poop inside between 8:15 and 8:30 for the THIRD day in a row, I almost forgot it was my favorite link up today!

Since it's finally after Thanksgiving, I'm finally going to show some of my favorite things about the holidays I've been pinning this week!

If you can't tell me what movie this is from, we might not be friends any more. Just kidding, but really.

This was on TBS this weekend and I got SO excited. I think it's my second favorite Christmas movie.

This is just cute.

Ok, I might sound like a teacher her, but I'm thinking about making something like this and changing it out once a month once I move out (whenever that might be... hopefully in the next few months. Dear Santa, all I want for Christmas is a job).

My mom's tree is 98% Santa ornaments and how cute would it be if I made these tags for our presents?

90's Kids

This beauty of a list is circulating on Facebook tonight and I can't help but laugh at it! It's so true!

Some of the highlights for me are:

"Topanga was at some point in human history considered not only a legitimate first name for a human being, but the kind of name that would inspire in malleable teenage boys a life-long infatuation." Admit it, you totally thought about naming a kid that for at least one very brief moment in history. Boy Meets World is still one of the best shows ever to grace the TV screen. And luck for us 90's ids, MTV(2) has caught on and airs it... I just don't know it's exact schedule. But we have Google for that now.

"It will be up to us to crusade for what is right. It is up to us to explain that Fern Gully was not only a predecessor to Avatar, but far better..." I still haven't bought into the Avatar craze and seen it yet (gasp, I know it's been 2 years since it came out), but Fern Gully is a CLASSIC. End of story.

"Though on the surface, they are the exact same thing in every conceivable way, whether you liked The Backstreet Boys or N*SYNC said more about your character than all of the terrible macaroni art you could ever make for your child psychologist." Our kids probably will never understand this, but it was so true. Picking sides on this matter also decided your best friend at the time. I was totally a BSB girl, but now I lean more towards N*Sync, just because Justin turned out to be so hot and talented and HILARIOUS. But seriously, I'm still upset I missed the NKOTBSB tour this summer and if N*Sync ever goes on tour I won't be missing that.

"Beanie Babies were not just significant, they were the first example most of us had of envy, greed, and wrath. If someone messed up that little heart-shaped Ty tag, so help you God..." I kid you not, a girl came up to me on the playground in 3rd grade and asked to buy one of my Beanie Babies off of me. I'm not even remotely joking. It was the lamb, which of course doesn't matter now and I can't even remember the name of it (but brownie points if you can), but I was horrified that she'd even ask. My grandmother spent a good amount of time (and money?) looking for this for me! Now they all live in a box in storage...

What are your favorite parts of this list?

Music Monday

Finally some Christmas music! Yay!

I love Santa Baby. It's one of my favorite Christmas songs ever and Naya Rivera's voice is perfect!

Amber P Riley's voice is perfect for this song.

I love Charlie Brown Christmas music. It's not Christmas time without it!

Another Christmas favorite. I love Zooey Deschanel's voice. I pretty much just love Zooey.

What are your favorite Christmas songs?

My Effing Name Is...

A new website was brought to my attention tonight on twitter. My F***ing Name Is... For those os us with "strange" names.

I've written one up and am *this* close to hitting send on their website, but I'm holding back because while my name is funny and deserves to be fully recognized on this site, it's not too common and I'm afraid of being stalked or somehow it biting me in the ass when it comes to the big job search.

Here's what I've got for my first name:
"First off, my name is Frances. Spelled like the multiple of France. Not Francis. I'm not a boy. It is not my last name. It's my first name. Very few people can call me Fran or Frannie. And yes, I do prefer Frannie to Franny. Not Fanny. That's never ok. Not Frank or Franky. And for the record, I don't know how Frances rhymes with Precious or Princess. But somehow to some people it does."

Maybe I just need some liquid courage? hahaha Maybe not. But I'm dying, because this website is hilarious.

Do people misspell your name?

Christmas Wreath

Last weekend, two of my friends and I had a craft party. Lindsay's been working on her's and Chad's Christmas tree ornaments (all inspired by Pinterest, of course), and Kendall unleashed her inner crafter and helped her. I made a super cute wreath I've been eye-ing since before Halloween.

Lindsay and I went to Hobby Lobby and gathered our required items. I got a wicker wreath form (the styrofoam ones were all gone), 7 different Christmas-y spools of ribbon, and two boxes of 35-count T-pins(the lazy way of assembling the wreath, the non-lazy and much more time consuming way is using hot glue).

I'm OCD and didn't want to make an outright pattern and didn't want any ribbons that had already touched each other to touch (which proved much more difficult than I thought). And after I looked at the one on Pinterest I was inspired by, I realized I should have done something a little different. But I really like my finished product (so I don't think I'd change anything)!

What do you think? I'm excited to hang it up TODAY (since it is officially Christmas season now that Thanksgiving has passed - how yummy was that?)!

I'm joining Caroline for her Christmas Craft Along!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you and your families have a wonderful Thanksgiving! My mom and I will be eating the best Turkey in the world this afternoon: Greenberg Smoked Turkey.

It was on Oprah's Favorite Things, y'all. That's how you know it's good.
But for now we watch the Macy's Parade and then gear up to eat our weight in Thanksgiving goodies. What's on your menu today? Are you watching the parade? And what football game(s) are you and your family watching?

Gobble gobble til you wobble!

Music Monday

Sorry for the late post. Had an interview in Fort Worth and then went to my dad's for a delicious dinner (he is seriously the best cook. Note to future husband, be able to grill ANYTHING).

Really excited for A Very Gaga Thanksgiving on Thursday night!

I know this next one was in last week's Music Monday, but I cannot get enough of it. I turn up the radio and jam every time I hear it.

The first time I heard this song, I got mad because I LOVE the Lenny Kravitz song it samples, but the more I hear it, the more I like it.

Happy Half Birthday, Pup Pup!

Nappy is 6 months old today. I've officially had him 2/3 of his life - how crazy is that?! I wanted to take him on a walk but I was left waiting on a phone call (that never came) all afternoon. But we'll aim for one tomorrow!

For now: happy half-birthday, sweet boy! I can't wait to celebrate the big 1 in May!

Eff, Marry, Kill

I found a new link up that I'm a little bit in love with.

Linking up with Blonde... Undercover Blonde.

With Breaking Dawn coming out this weekend, I'm going to go with the men of Twilight.

Eff Taylor Lautner. It's legal now, guys, don't worry.
Marry R-Pattz.
Kill Michael Welch.

What would you do with these three gentlemen? Comment and let me know.

Oh, How Pinteresting!

I love this link up. I look forward to it every Wednesday! Here's some pins I've been loving.

My friends and I are planing Craft Day Saturday and I want to make a cute wreath like this.

This is genius for the dog bowls...

How adorbs is this?

I can't wait until I feel like this about someone and they feel this way about me. So sweet.

Bellatrix is easily my favorite Death Eater in the Harry Potter series. I think because of Helena Bonham Carter. And this (even though it has nothing to do with the books, really).

Elf Yourself!

I was looking for a way to get into the Holiday spirit without overdoing it and skipping Thanksgiving too much. AND HERE IT IS! Every year for the past, probably 6 or 7 years, I get really excited about Office Max's Elf Yourself. There used to be just one dance (the Classic), but they've added a new dance or so every year. It's hilarious. I'm obsessed.

Anyway, I made my first one of the Holiday season and here it is. Starring myself and my friends Kendall, Macie, Lindsay, and Amanda:

So, what are you waiting for? Go ElfYourself!

Music Monday

Movie trailers and music, oh my! It's quite the crazy Monday, huh?

What are you listening to today?

Is It March Yet?

If you've read the Hunger Games and watch Good Morning America (or have a friend who was clued in to the GMA release of the new Hunger Games Trailer), then you know today was the day a real new trailer was released. I'm still waiting for it to air on GMA because Peeta himself (aka Josh Hutcherson) will be in the studio to talk about the movie. But I found the trailer online and I'm ready for March now.

If you haven't read this series yet, do it now. It's technically a "teen" series so it's printed in a pretty big font and the books aren't too long. I read them at camp and finished the three of them in about three weeks. Anyway, read the books, watch the trailer, whatever - just get hyped.

Are you as excited as I am?

Glee + Adele = Love?

So, about a week ago I read an article about the Glee cast recording/performing their 300th song. Entertainment weekly listed the last 15-ish songs that made up the rest of the 300 we hadn't seen on TV yet. On this list was an Adele mash-up of "Rumour Has it" and "Someone Like You," two of my favorite Adele songs. And here it is. I can't wait to buy this Tuesday and listen to it on repeat. A million times.

New Header and Colors!

So I've been meaning to update my header for about 2 weeks now. I've also been admiring from afar this robin's egg blue and cinnamon red color scheme (I liked it but wasn't totally sure how to incorporate it on my blog). And I finally did it.

What do you think? I'm a little bit in love.

I also got a new signature! And a few days ago I added a social media page where you can find me on Twitter, Pinterest, Goodreads, and GetGlue. I'm a little bit of a social media whore.

Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesday

Some things catching my eye this week on Pinterest:

Doesn't everybody have a friend they want to say this to? I know I have a couple...

I love Big Bang Theory.

Just a few more days till Breaking Dawn finally comes out (don't misinterpret my "finally
for excitement. I'm just tired of waiting).

My friend Chad made one of these that looked like a pirate (specifically Jack Sparrow). Pretty cool.

What are you finding Pinteresting these days?
