GO TIM!!! Here's a clip from tonight's American Idol; Tim and his partner, Julie (who is also awesome), singing "Something."

Inquiring Minds
Inquiring mind want to know: will there ever be a sarcasm font? We've all been involved in some situation where our sarcasm has not been understood on the internet. After posing this question on my Facebook, a girl I took dance with in middle school commented with the link to an article.
Although it's not a sarcasm font, it's a symbol that I wish came standard on all computer nowadays (especially because I refuse to pay $1.99 to download it). Sarcasm is like a second language to a lot of people, myself included, and when someone doesn't understand your sense of humor, it'd be nice to have this little thingy-ma-bob to clarify my true intentions.
What do you think about the SarcMark? Genius or need some tweaking?

Make. It. STOP.
Last summer, maybe fall, this commercial started airing. It's awful. It's SO annoying. The song is terrible. The woman singing it is terrible. It's just bad. It doesn't make me want blueberries (mainly because I wouldn't want them normally), and it sure as hell doesn't make me want pancakes, especially is they're Bisquick (which is sad because I like pancakes). For the past, oh, 2 months, the commercial had disappeared from the air - THANK GOD. However, today while watching my line-up of TV shows, I've now seen it EIGHT TIMES. EIGHT. Eight too many. Why did it come back from commercial obscurity? I'll never know, but here's hoping that it'll disappear really soon and for good, too.
(Also, if you look at the description on YouTube, I'm not the only one who feels this way. Listen up, Bisquick. Get rid of this awful ad.)

Britney's back, bitches. And for real this time.
The video for "Hold It Agains Me" premiered last night and it's awesome. For some reason it reminds me of "Oops! I Did It Again," but I have no idea why - but it's a good thing. It definitely has me ready for the release of the rest of her album, Femme Fatale.

Bucket List
You may have noticed, I added a new page to my blog! I talked about starting a bucket list earlier, but I didn't want to do it in a post that I'd have to continually update and then it'd be awkwardly in some random place, blah blah blah. Then I discovered my ability to start PAGES on this fancy blog. I feel accomplished, even though my bucket list currently only has 3 things on it and one is a short term goal (adopt a tri-color corgi).
So, readers, I'm asking you for help: if you know me, what are some things you think I should do in my lifetime (that I'll actually do haha), and those of you out there that come across GrownUpLand, shoot me some ideas of what something(s) on your bucket list is/are.
I like comments. A lot.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!
I blogged a few weeks ago about my dad a little when he started his own blog. Today is his birthday! I thought I'd celebrate him on my blog with a few pictures stolen from his Facebook.
Just the two of us while he was serving as chapter advisor to Phi Delt at SFA.
At the lake with Katy and Sarah.
Dancing at the 2007 Queen's Ball, the final party of the Texas Rose Festival.
After graduation last May.
Happy birthday, Daddy! Love you! :)

It's finally here! Lady Gaga's long awaited single for her new album, both titles "Born This Way," debuted this morning and my twitter feed is blowing up with Perez Hilton's excitement. People are comparing it to "Express Yourself" by the original Pop Princess, Madonna, and I see the parallels, but Gaga's is more upbeat - a little more dancey. See for yourself and I dare you not to tap your foot.
Now we have to wait until May for the full album...

Someday My Prince Will Come...
While scouring the biography section for Kendra Wilkinson's Sliding Into Home or one of Tori Spelling's other books, I ran across this book: Someday My Prince Will Come by Jerramy Fine.I had never heard of her before, but I picked up the book and read the back of the book for the synopsis; the title had caught my eye. After finishing Tori's first book, sTori Telling, I started Ms. Fine's book.
Jerramy is a girl. She was born in '77 to hippy parents in Colorado. Her descriptions of her childhood are hilarious. She says she was born with a feeling of superiority. One anecdote describes her mother waking her up one morning for Jerramy to say, "You're not the woman who dresses me." Jerramy was not just a girl who wanted to be a princess all her life like most of us. She was drawn in every way possible to royalty, in particular, Princess Anne's son Peter Phillips (aka Princes William and Harry's cousin). She was bound and determined to meet him and marry him. After the longest and strangest list of events and living in London for about 4 years, she met him! I don't want to give any more away, so I'll stop there on the synopsis.
Maybe I'm just tired of being single and I'm too much of a hopeless romantic, and let me start by quoting Carrie Bradshaw, "But I can't help but wonder," if something in my like Jerramy is pulled to someone specific out there and I have to meet them before I can meet my soulmate for this life (it's in the book, you should really read it). Someone like Darren Criss from Glee or Benjamin Mackenzie from the O.C. and Southland. A girl can dream right?! And then again, maybe I just need job, an apartment, and a puppy to meet this person wherever my future apartment and job are located.
It sounds ridiculous, but Jerramy Fine's book discusses past lives and whatnot and it's really got me thinking... I promise she's nothing like her hippy parents, so if you're worried about that, don't let it keep you from reading the book. If you do, let me know what you think.

Super Bowl Commercials 2011
It's that time of year again: NEW AD CAMPAIGNS! Not all Super Bowl ads are the beginnings of new campaigns, but some are and regardless, I'm SUPER excited for the Super Bowl ads.

Super 8 - I thought super 8 was a hotel...
Captain America - BAMF? I think so.
Pirates 4 - I'm. Stoked. Kick. Ass.
Rango - I had no interest at first, but the more I see, the more I like.
Rio - Not too sure I'll be seeing this one.

For the most part, this year's ads were really disappointing. What were some of your favorites?

I've blogged about two other groups on Live To Dance, but this is Kendall Glover, the only soloist to make it to the finals. She's 11. ELEVEN. As in, half the age of the ballet couple (at least) and a good 6-7 years younger than Twitch. She is PHENOMENAL. There's no other word(s) to describe this firecracker. This is her dance in the semi-finals to "Firework" by Katy Perry. I can't find her dance from the finals this week to "Dog Days Are Over" by Florence + the Machine.
I really hopes she wins it. As much as I love 4 of the 5 other groups in the finals (out of the possible 6 - don't get me started on the 6th group, they're terrible), Kendall is SO deserving. She's amazing. Just watch for yourself.

I Knew Him Before He Was Famous!
This is Tim Halperin, whom I've blogged about previously. But now he's going to Hollywood on American Idol after a flirty audition. Rumor has it he's made it to the Top 40.
He played early second semester sophomore year, back in good ol' Frog Bytes Lounge (rest in peace) just after he'd released his EP. Here's me and my soph roommate, Maggie, with our EPs (which might be signed, I should check that out) and then a shot of Tim talking to the audience. I titled the album on Facebook "I Knew Him Before He Was on iTunes," and now I can say I knew him before he was famous.
