August Jam Sesh

I just remembered it's the last Friday of the month! I've been so consumed with COLLEGE FOOTBALL starting this weekend that I forgot! In honor of college football, I'll be sharing my favorite songs to get me pumped for tailgating and cheering on my Frogs!

"I Won't Back Down" by Tom Petty
This is a TCU fan MUST. Our coach, the amazing Gary Patterson love him some Tom Petty and this song was on the team's playlist the first time we made a BCS Bowl (Fiesta Bowl after the 2009 season) and it's been a stadium playlist staple ever since.

Not only does this take me back to sixth grade, it takes me back to the '09 season to the Utah game when we dominated and sold out the stadium for the first time in years for a conference game. The whole stadium shook with excitement. AHHH! I can't wait to go to games again this year!

It's a must for the little guys, like TCU.

I officially have less than 24 hours until TCU and LSU kick off at AT&T (formerly Cowboys) Stadium. I won't be there, sadly, but I will be at home with Nappy wearing our purple (yes, I got my dog a jersey) and cheering loud: GO FROGS!!!

Are you excited for football season? What are you football season jams?

It Only Takes a Spark...

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire released a new trailer last night at the MTV Movie Awards and it pumped me up! Did you see it? If not, here you go. Feel free to re-watch it.

Is it November yet?

Grad School, Here I Come!

I'M GOING TO GRAD SCHOOL!!!!!!!

I just got my official acceptance to TCU and I'm feeling AWESOME. (I'd like to think my excitement about grad school is how newly engaged couples feel - THAT's how excited I am!)

I got rejected from one school just before all of my hospital junk happened, so I was starting to feel discouraged about grad school and life in general what with all the fun of the last month(literally, it's been exactly 4 weeks since I was admitted to the hospital).

I have until May 4 to decide, but let's be real, Fort Worth is calling my naaaaame!

This has seriously made my day. I wasn't feeling too great and this just totally lifted my spirits!

Grad School?

Maybe it's not big to y'all, but I've made a fairly big decision recently. I decided this weekend that if our current president is re-elected, I'm going to go to grad school. Even if he's not re-elected, I might still go to grad school, that I'm not so sure on yet.

Anyway, this decision process also includes taking the GRE, obviously. So for those of you out there in the blogosphere that have taken the GRE/gone to grad school I have a question for you (or several, really):
1. How hard should I study?
2. Do you recommend a study book/plan/program?
3. If yes to 2, what?

The first available PAPER test I can take is in November and it's about 45 minutes away from my house (according to Google Maps). But I can always stay in town and go to a testing center for the COMPUTER test. So Question 4. Do you recommend the PAPER or COMPUTER based test?

My undergrad degree is in Advertising and Public Relations. I haven't decided if I'll go ahead and stay with that or just move into general Communications. Today, at this very moment, I'd do Ad/PR. This may be another decision I make based on the election in November.

ANYWAY! I appreciate your help in advance. I'm getting pretty excited/nervous about this decision, especially since I've started vocalizing it to people (makes it more real). I'm hoping to get some more answers from my dad's friend who's helping out little seester with scholarships for college (and hopefully me for grad school, now haha) to get more answers about grad school in general, so stay tuned!

Bark Twice If You're in Milwaukee!

THIS.

I don't know if y'all were aware, but I. am. OBSESSED. with Anchorman. So THAT makes me SO happy. All during my college years they rumored it, but then Christina Applegate got breast cancer and the cast kept saying they'd only do a sequel if they could all do it (which I'm all for, by the way). BUT FINALLY! The sequel is real and it's happening and I can't wait!

NEW SUITS!

Ron Burgundy's twitter is blowing up. There's rumors that Baxter could speak French or Turkish!

All this on top of some very good news concerning your's truly and a part time job-like thing that I am staying tight lipped about.

Happy Thursday, everyone!

Excitement!

So, it's no secret, where I live is not that exciting of a place. I typically eat out at the same 7 restaurants within a week and a half span (sometimes less, I'm a creature of habit, deal with it). Don't get me wrong, Tyler is vastly improved since I graduated from high school, but after living in the "big city" of Fort Worth, Tyler can still continue to improve, and it is, however slowly.

Next spring something exciting is happening. Blue Man Group is coming. Not to Dallas. To Tyler. They'll be performing less than a mile from my mom's house. My best friend, Kendall, has seen the THREE times. Twice in their home theater in Chicago and once in Dallas. She's obsessed. I've never seen them, but I got really excited over the summer when I saw they were coming. They were originally only scheduled to perform ONE night. I freaked out last week when I realized a whole week had passed since the ticket purchase date. But then, I saw a glorious billboard that told me they had added TWO nights. Today I bought our tickets for it.

I'm pretty frickin' excited.

Now I'm doing research (on YouTube) to watch their awesomeness. I'll have to update you on it after we go.

Have you ever seen Blue Man Group perform?

Holiday Hoobeewhaty?

I love looking at Christmas lights. Love love love. A few years ago my friends and I started Tacky and Tasteful, where we drive around a look at lights and deem them tacky or tasteful for our own enjoyment. Just for the record, blow ups in yards are always tacky. Unless it's Snoopy. And then, Snoopy is only not tacky if he's by himself. Multiple blow ups is the cardinal sin of yard decorations. We're totally kidding... except the blow ups. And the moving reindeer. Those things are scary.

ANYWAY. There's a family here in town (except they moved this year so they're not technically in town anymore) that does a fantastic light show every year (except last year, which was sad). But here's a glimpse of their old house and their amazeballs (yea, I brought it back) light show.

I know, right? The fact that they're not in town anymore (and Nappy being sick this week) has put a damper on jumping the car to go sit over there to watch multiple times. But this weekend, my friends and I are finally hitting the streets and the light parks to look at lights! I'm SO excited!

This might be the best thing we've found. Ever.

What are some of your favorite parts of Christmas time?

My Excitement Can't Be Contained.

The countdown is on, kids. One of my favorite movie franchises is returning May 20 and the first teaser trailer already looks fairly promising.

A Very Potter Sequel

Ok, if you agreed with me and thought the first was hilarious, you'll die watching this one. It's a Very Potter Sequel!

Oh and 24 hours from now I'll be seeing Deathly Hallows Part 1. SO EXCITED!!!!!!
