Two Truths and a Lie: Revelation

The other day, I linked up with Sarah at Venus Trapped in Mars for a Super Bowl themed post! I told two truths and a lie: football edition and I'm here to reveal my truths and lie.

Here's a refresher...

1. In college, I had a class with Andy Dalton.
2. One of my elementary school teachers was the sister-in-law of Joe Montana.
3. Johnny Manziel is my cousin.

Now for the big reveal! *drumroll, please*

1. TRUE! I did have class with Andy Dalton. I was in sophomore comp with Andy Dalton in Spring 2008 after his first starting football season. Little did I know back then that he'd help TCU get to two BCS bowls back-to-back and be instrumental in the stadium renovations and TCU to the Big XII, even if he was no longer at TCU when those two things happened.

2. TRUE! My third-grade teacher was Joe Montana's sister-in-law. How crazy is that? She loved Elvis and we played Elvis-opoly on a regular basis.

3. FALSE. Johnny Manziel is not my cousin, but we do share a birth place: Tyler, Texas! And for one year, he went to the high school I graduated from. Then his family moved to Kerrville, just down the road from one of my all time favorite place, CAMP!

Now let's go watch some ads! Oh, and I guess football, too. Go Seahawks!

Ginger Love.

"Being a ginger has plagued me my entire life. People say I smell like copper, I can get a sunburn indoors at night, and according to recent legend, I have no soul." - Emma Pillsbury, Glee, "Born This Way"

I cracked up at this quote. I don't understand society's sudden aversion to red heads, or gingers as 99% of people call them, because I have always loved them. Maybe it's because my maternal grandparents were both red heads and although I am definitely a brunette, I definitely inherited some red highlights and fair skin from them (Has anyone seen how long it takes me to get a good tan going?). My mom even wanted a red head when she was preggers with me.

Because I love gingers and feel that they are severely under appreciated, I thought I'd blog some Ginger Love. Let's start first with the world's most eligible bachelor, whom I blogged about last night: Prince Harry.
I mean, if you're on the cover of GQ magazine, you're clearly hot. Let's face it. If you're not a ginger lover, then just stare at him in black and white - good looking, right?

Now onto another beloved Ginger Brit: Rupert Grint, aka Ron Weasley. I think I've had a minor crush on Mr Grint since movie 2, when this sad picture was his promo shot.
Can we talk about what a precious child he was? I mean look at that face. And now, Mr. Grint looks a little something like this.

Maybe I love her for her style and excessive OCD, but we can't forget Miss Pillsbury for Glee herself.

And then of course, as any TCU football fan knows: No. 14 Andy Dalton.

I love gingers, readers, and I don't care who knows.

Bear Hunt

This is just TOO perfect for words. Especially today, the day TCU shuts up Baylor's trash-talking. Kick off is at 3:30 on Versus for those of us not in the Fort today. My mom bought the next level up on our satellite to get the channel (for a whole $10 more than she was already paying).

We're going on a bear hunt!
We're gonna catch a big one!
I'm not afraid!
Are you?
Not me!

Here comes the gate
Now we're on a bear hunt
We're gonna catch a big one
I'm not afraid
Are you?
Not me!
We're coming to a tall mountain
It sure is high
It sure is wide
Let's climb up it
Well, there's nothing over there
Nothing over there
Nothing back there
Hey! Wait! I think I see something
Quick! Everybody run down!

We're going on a bear hunt!
We're gonna catch a big one!
I'm not afraid!
Are you?
Not me!

This song is a kids song with echos(that I deleted), but how perfect would it be if Andy and GPat led the singing of this before running out of the tunnel today? Oh my gosh, I think I'd pay money. Go frogs!

Sayonara, Cougs...

Well, it's official, this will be TCU's last year playing Utah and BYU... BYU has made the ever so wise decision to go independent in football and joining the WCC, formerly WAC(?). So, yes, once again, TCU has been screwed over by conference realignment. However, BYU plays on our turf for their last game against us as members of the MWC and I can guarantee Andy Dalton and our boys will be handing them their asses at the end of the game as a lovely parting gift.

Hey, College GameDay, please come back to TCU for this game.

California Dreamin'...

In honor of the first Go Purple Friday of football season (35 days till Kick Off in Cowboys Stadium!), I'd like to share with you readers this wonderful little article from USA Today from July 22. USA Today predicted BCS bowl games for this season. I quite like this prediction, not only because this little horned frog would visit the other city of roses, Pasadena, but because they've picked TCU to win. After last season, I think it's possible, but I won't get my hopes up. I'll let the nation's leading QB, Andy Dalton, do the work while I cheer in the stands or at home. GO FROGS!!!
