Everyday in May: Day 2

Today's prompt is telling everyone about something you're good at.

Seeing as it's now late (again) and I had all afternoon to actually write this post and I didn't, I'm going to tell you how amazing I am at procrastinating.

I put the PRO in procrastinate. For reals. I'm going to share a list of things to do so you can become a pro like me.

1. Facebook. Get on a friend's page. Look at their pictures. Pick a random person in one of their pictures. Stalk that person. You know you've done this at least once in your lifetime. Unless you don't and never have had Facebook. In college Facebook has bumper stickers you could send your friends. I remember one Friday afternoon my friends and I spent no less than 2 hours sending bumper stickers to each other and laughing hysterically. No Facebook has stupid games, but that's something else to do entirely.

2. Pinterest. Pinterest is a BLACK effing HOLE of procrastinating. I'm SO glad it wasn't around while I was in undergrad because I would have flunked out. I'm not even kidding. I've become a lot more lax on how much time I spend on it, but I still spend a good chunk of time pinning crap I'll probably never use.

3. Games. Thanks to the iPhone I think we all have our little games we love to check in on. Words with Friends, Matching with Friends (my personal favorite at the moment), Draw Something, Flood It, Snake, whatever, there's WAY too many of them and all of us have at least one we're addicted to in some capacity.

4. Apps. Thanks to smartphones, we love apps. Love love LOVE. We can't get enough. I check Instagram all the time because I love looking at other people's pictures. I've always loved pictures of all kinds, but Instagram just fuels the fire. I'm recently hooked on Vine as well... Also, I have a Tamagotchi and it's FANTASTIC. Tamagotchi L.I.F.E. in the iTunes App store. It's free. You 90's kids need to get in on this right now. My current one has been alive for almost 10 days which is a record going back to the original little egg key chain...
Tamagotchi 2.0 died while I was at dance last week...

5. Online Shopping. Do I really need to explain this one? We're all addicted. Just use it to procrastinate and ignore whatever responsibility you may have (unless it's another human being or your pet - take care of those).

6. Read. I got a Kindle for Christmas 2011. I've read WAY more than ever thanks to it. I read almost every night before I go to bed - yes, I procrastinate sleeping, even when I'm exhausted.

7. Nap/Sleep. This was my procrastination activity of choice back in the day. Got a big paper? Take a nap. You'll definitely start on it after you've slept for 3 and a half hours... Maybe.

8. Annoy your roommates. They most likely want to procrastinate as well.

I know this was kind of stupid, but it's all I could come up with because I'm dedicated to at least making it halfway through this challenge - I wasn't going to miss Day 2.

High Five for Friday

Hello!!! I'm linking up for High Five for Friday again!

one: Silver Linings Playbook has FINALLY made it's way to East Texas. I'm pumped, to say the least. According to Google, it's been out since September and I've been dying to see it. So hopefully later today or at the latest, tomorrow, I will be seeing it!
two: Nappy hates socks. He tried to eat them off my mom's foot the other night. It was funny when he wasn't attacking me.
three: My iPhone told me I was in St Louis the other day. I had no idea I had even left Texas!
four: I started a new book! After talking to Macie Tuesday night/Wednesday morning about Pretty Little Liars from earlier that evening, we started talking books. She recommended Beautiful Creatures and the Maze Runner series! Since Creatures is coming out in theaters next month, I decided to read it first! I'm already a quarter of the way through it after reading two nights. You can tell it's written for teenagers, but the story itself is good.
five: Starting a new book means I finally finished the fourth Game of Thrones book!

What are you high fiving Friday for?

Instagram 365 (+1)

I was reading Caroline's blog this morning and saw she's going to do Photo 365 through Instagram on a sidebar. I thought this was a great idea and have added a sidebar to join in the fun! No to mention, I've started a 101 in 1001 list and Photo 365 is one of my things! I tried it almost 3 years ago, but lost track of it after 3 months. That was pre-iPhone though, so I have a lot more faith in myself this time, haha.

This means, I have officially joined Instagram. I never thought I'd see the day. But here I am. If you'd like to follow my on Instagram, my name is FMKey88.

Favorite Friday

This week's favorite is SURPRISES!

I honestly didn't have a favorite for today until about 3 hours ago when I was at a "dinner" for Chad and Lindsay, the wedding I was supposed to be in in September. Well, the now Mr. and Mrs. pulled one over on us and got married tonight! It was slightly insane, but oh so very cool and totally them! So happy to have been a part of their spontaneous wedding (although not so for them) and can't wait to see where their lives as a married couple takes them!

Times like this are why you should always remember to charge your camera's battery and bring it with you, but be thankful that Steve Jobs created the iPhone...

Also, note to self: Think of something cute and creative for the guests to do for the guestbook! Lindsay and Chad had a sweet painting of love birds in a tree. The guests' thumb prints make the leaves and they're framing it in their apartment. How cute is that?!

30 Day Challenge - Day 1

30 day blog challenges seem to be the thing these days so I'm going to start, too!

Day One: A Photo of myself and a summary of my day

Me and my brick at TCU

Today was pretty uneventful, but fun nonetheless! I gave Sarah a wake up call and we went out to lunch to The Diner. After lunch, we went back to the house and played lots of Mario Kart Wii, our usual summer fun. Sarah unlocked two new characters yesterday, Dry Bones and Birdo. She took a nap before heading to dance and I left to snuggle up in my own bed for a few hours before going back over to Daddy's for some yummy dinner with Courtney! After dinner, Court and I went to pick up Sarah from dance at ADC and we all played a ton more Mario Kart. Now I'm back at home starting my 30 day blogging challenge, obviously! Maybe your day was a bit more eventful?

OH! Courtney explained why my iPhone was being ridiculously slow these days, so if you want to fix your's, I know how. Feel free to message me on Facebook and I'll try to explain it without having your phone in front of me (since I'm a visual person).

48 Hours (or less)

Oh thank Heaven for delicious camp food! Or for camp in general really. In 48 SHORT hours, I will be getting ready to make the trek from Angel's Attic (from personal experience this is probably the furthest cabin on the hill from) to Harrison Hall for my first camp meal in TWO YEARS. I'm about 95% packed now, thanks to an intense packing session with my mom this morning/early afternoon. All I have left are a few last minute items that I'll still be needing until I leave.

Thanks to Kathleen, my mouth is watering in anticipation of my arrival and first bite of the most amazing camp food anyone has ever known. Literally. We don't just eat hot dogs and hamburgers every night like most camps. Just take a look (she's got some pictures of what they've already eaten, so jealous)!

Since I'll be at camp sans regular internet connection, posts will be very limited: maybe a post or two on my days off (maybe nights off if there's a better place in Kerrville with wifi and is open 24 hours). Without the modern conveniences of regular internet connection, my iPhone, and television, I'll be starting my summer reading list. First I have The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and the two following books of the series. Then I'm not sure. I'm thinking that the first two books of the series will keep me busy enough while I'm at camp, but I am looking for other suggestions since I never have to read for school again and would like to read for fun more. And now I'm off to figure out my second to last dinner at home for a month!
