Mega Millions!

I don't know if you've heard or not, but the lottery is worth MEGA MILLIONS. 500-something millions.

My mom and I are going later this afternoon to buy some tickets. Are you going to play?

In college, one of my best friends, Brigitte, and I always joked about playing the lottery so we could just go to school for fun and find a husband. We actually played a few times, but I don't know that we actually ever checked the numbers to see if we won, which I'm sure we didn't. Now I'm joking that if I win, I'm going to forget finding a job and go back to finding a husband.

But seriously, will you be buying any tickets (if you haven't already)? Are you feeling lucky?

Bark Twice If You're in Milwaukee!

THIS.

I don't know if y'all were aware, but I. am. OBSESSED. with Anchorman. So THAT makes me SO happy. All during my college years they rumored it, but then Christina Applegate got breast cancer and the cast kept saying they'd only do a sequel if they could all do it (which I'm all for, by the way). BUT FINALLY! The sequel is real and it's happening and I can't wait!

NEW SUITS!

Ron Burgundy's twitter is blowing up. There's rumors that Baxter could speak French or Turkish!

All this on top of some very good news concerning your's truly and a part time job-like thing that I am staying tight lipped about.

Happy Thursday, everyone!

Animals. On Ustream.

I don't know if you guys have fully explored Ustream, but there are some pretty awesome things on there.

Last spring, I blogged about my mom constantly watching the Decorah Eagles Nest and the three eaglets. (I can't find the old post, so for the new followers out there, just trust me. It happened.) Well, they've laid 3 more eggs and two have already hatched! You should probably check it out and wait for the last egg to hatch.

And this year my mom also became fascinated with black bears. There's several dens with cameras hooked up in them. There's Jewel and her two cubs, Herbie and Fern. And there's Ted, but he was out in the wild this winter sans camera, but he visits Honey and Lucky in his old den randomly.

It's pretty great if you're into nature or get really bored.

And then there's this gem of Lucky and Ted from last winter my mom found last night. It's 14 minutes long, but it's hilarious.

There's also some Schnauzer puppies I've watched before that are pretty stinkin' cute.

Are you new to Ustream or have you discovered all of its hidden gems?

Hunger Games Link Up!

My new blogging friend, Alyx at Everyday is a New Adventure, made a Hunger Games link up for all of us to GEEK OUT together about our HG experiences!

Mar 23, 2012 - hunger games
Kendall, me, Macie, and Lindsay after the movie - we're so pumped!

Kendall ordered her shirt about a month ago and ordered me to either make one ("because your crafty") or find one and order it ASAP. Naturally, I waited until the last moment to look online and couldn't find one I liked so I made my shirt. It turned out pretty awesomely, but being the perfectionist I am, there are a few things I don't totally love haha. Macie got her shirt the day of and Lindsay is wearing a Chuy's shirt with a HG parody.

My shirt after I finished it Thursday night

Now onto my review. Ummmm, is there a better book adaptation on screen? I think NOT. Gary Ross and whoever else did a phenomenal job of bringing the book to life. Since I just finished re-reading the book lst week, there were several things left out that I got nitpicky over, but overall they did an awesome job of bringing the book to life. Jennifer Lawrence is Katniss. And after watching JL on her press tour last week, I want to be her best friend. She's hilarious. And Elizabeth Banks IS Effie, moreso than any other actor in the movie is their character. She was perfection. I could go on about all the actors and their characters but I have ot make myself stop. I also LOVED how they deviated from the book's sole Katniss POV to show us what the gamemakers were doing throughout the time in the arena and how District 11 reacted to little Rue's big moment. I was terrified of the scene between President Snow and Seneca in the rose garden. Snow is so effin' scary (mainly if you've read all the books).

I'm still mourning the loss of Madge in the movie. I think she was REALLY important. She was like an insider who opposed the whole thing. Her dad was the mayor. He was an ultimate piece in the games by having to subject his district (and his own child) to this crap. And Madge's family had history with the games. I just don't understand why they cut her out. This is the one thing I'm allowing myself to nitpick about in the movie.

I will say that I was slightly disappointed that there wasn't anything at the end of the credits (please correct me if I'm wrong). I mean, even if it was just Prim and Katniss hugging or something. I just like stuff after the credits. I'm a sucker for it ever since the Pirates franchise. What did you think? Have you seen it more than once? (I've already got tentative plans to see it two more times.)

Fur Baby Friday

This isn't Hunger Games related... Unless Nappy thought he was in Catching Fire. It was too good (and not necessarily at the same time) not to share on Mrs. Monologues' Fur Baby Friday.

This is the "artistic" shot where you can his
water bowl in the background...

This is the shot where he showed me how his head could fit
through the hole in his puppy gate.

Soooo, my mom and I will be buying a new puppy gate this weekend at Target. At least they're fairly inexpensive and he ate through the old one.

What silly things has your pet done this week?

TONIGHT!

I know like half of the world has already seen it, but I'm 8 hours (sooo long) away from finally seeing the Hunger Games! I finished up my shirt last night after I got to see one of my campers (always exciting when they're randomly here). It looks great! I can't wait to show it off on Monday when I link up with Alyx at Everyday is a New Adventure.

Have any of you out in blogging land seen it yet? I've heard RAVE reviews about it! My step-sister loved it. One of my dearest camp friends said it was amazing (and she hasn't seen the HP films so they don't ruin the books, so I consider this HIGH praise for HG movie).

I just downloaded the sounds from District 12 on iTunes and I honestly didn't think I'd like it as much as I do. "Safe and Sound" continues to grow on me. I'm really glad that T-Swift experimented with a different sound and it works for her. Don't overdo it, but she should try it out more often. My favorite song is still Kid Cudi's "The Ruler and the Killer," probably because it's so different and definitely creepy. I'm anxious to find out if they use any of these songs in the movie (other than the credits because I expect "Safe and Sound" to be the first credits song).

SPEAKING OF THE CREDITS. I'm a sucker for movies with scenes after the credits, anyone know if there's anything there?

Ok, enough of my rambling. I hope you all have a happy Hunger Games and a great weekend!

Are you just as excited for the Hunger Games as I am?! I hope so!
